The Saint-Tropez peninsula

Village
Gulf of St Tropez 4★

A special place to visit!

The Saint-Tropez peninsula is a privileged area, untouched by the rampant urbanization of the French Riviera. Protected by the Massif des Maures mountain range and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the peninsula is delimited by Sainte-Maxime to the north and the town of La Croix-Valmer to the south. Parc Montana is located in the heart of this protected area, encompassing two  Natural Areas of Ecological, Faunistic, and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF): ZNIEFF 83-103-100, known as the "Maures of the Saint-Tropez Peninsula," and ZNIEFF 83-200-100, known as the "Maures." In addition, several sites are listed in the inventory of picturesque locations: the villages of Gassin and its surroundings, Ramatuelle, and Saint-Tropez.

  • The beaches: probably the most beautiful beaches on the French Riviera are located near the Parc Montana**** campsite
  • Les Marines de Gassin, 3 km from the campsite, sandy beach, family-friendly, offering a view over the entire bay of St Tropez.
  • The small beach of La Moune, a small cove on the road to St Tropez where a friendly sailing club maintains a convivial atmosphere.
  • L'Escalet, in the commune of Ramatuelle, boasts crystal-clear water sheltered from the wind and prying eyes, perfect for a delightful swim. But above all, it's the gateway to the protected site of Cap Taillat-Cap Lardier, accessible only via a breathtakingly beautiful coastal path (approximately a 45-minute walk). Accessible to all (with proper footwear, of course), and well-marked, this path will lead you to Briande beach, undoubtedly the most magnificent of all: fine white sand, turquoise water, a remarkable seabed, and an idyllic setting. This Natura 2000 area is managed by the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Conservancy)
  • Pampelonne, still in Ramatuelle, will have something for everyone: private concessions with splendid establishments (restaurants / lounge / sunbeds and parasols with VIP service) right on the water, passing through beach huts and other snack bars, you can enjoy a beach almost 4 km long, with fine sand and clear water, with views of the most beautiful yachts in the world: it's the place to see and meet the stars from all over the world!
  • The landing beach, 7 km away in the commune of La Croix Valmer, is the most convenient and pleasant option, simple and family-friendly. Children will love it because the water remains shallow for quite a distance. With its golden sand, this wide, welcoming beach also boasts a superb view of the islands of Levant and Port-Cros.
  • Sylvabelle, just a little further on, is less well-known because a staircase leads down the hillside to it. More intimate, it's an enchanting spot for well-deserved relaxation. Nestled between two small cliffs, it also faces the Îles d'Or (Golden Islands), and its tropical vegetation clinging to the hillside will make you think you're in Brazil!
  • Bouillabaisse beach, 6 km away, is an institution. At the entrance to St Tropez, it overlooks the entire bay; two establishments offer typical menus right on the water's edge.
  • Finally, there's Salins beach, also in St. Tropez, and perhaps the least known because it's a bit of a trek: you'll have to cross the entire village and continue to the very end of the cape to finally find this wonderful spot! With its remote, end-of-the-world feel, fine sand, and crystal-clear waters, it's a favorite haunt of locals looking to cool off!
